Description
Develops, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and / or new products. Launches, releases, approves and implements or issues engineering change requests as required to support design engineering and floor with new and existing products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements. Leads and supports team projects to reduce product costs, improve quality, and enhance safety. Develops, improves, and maintains test scripts and procedures based on product knowledge—including DPS, Tetra, Centris Twin, Centris Sym3, and AP Sym3—in collaboration with customer field engineering, manufacturing, GPS, and other relevant teams. Supports the definition of test specifications with design and software engineering, and assists in the design and sourcing of test fixtures. Maintains proactive communication with field engineering to identify and drive opportunities for product cost reduction, quality improvement, and safety enhancement, contributing to cross-functional initiatives that support continuous improvement. Evaluates work methods, procedures and policies. Participate in the development and maintenance of new and existing business processes; updates as necessary to ensure current practices are documented. Determines root cause and corrective action analysis for issues that arise during assembly and / or test of systems; provides failure analysis report as required. Performs Process Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis when working with New Product Development. Other Requirements: This position may require standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools. Additionally, because this position also may involve working in a clean room, the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields may be required. Demonstrates expanded conceptual knowledge in own discipline and broadens capabilities Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work No supervisory responsibilities but provides informal guidance to new team members Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations
