Description
Benchmark future Ford vehicles to competitor vehicles by quickly measuring with data Ford vehicles manufacturing Key Performance indicators to competitors in Body and Final Assembly. Work with Flexible Architecture team to provide and help drive product and manufacturing efficiencies including into the future Ford vehicle program between Technical Kick-off and (TKO) and Technology Management Review (TMR). Work with multiple Benchmarking teams across the Enterprise to provide a measurable efficiency rating of our vehicles relative to our competitors. Work with our team to develop a user-friendly dashboard that Engineers can easily identify efficient product and processes for future Ford vehicles. Drive product development to incorporate the more efficient benchmarked product and innovation processes. Focus on providing efficient product and processes identified through benchmarking and innovative projects not currently in the future model program scope. Create new and innovative processes based on benchmarked vehicles and innovative manufacturing processes that improve labor efficiency, complexity reduction, and end item parts to the main line where possible for Body and Final Assembly. Drive labor efficiency, complexity reduction, and end item parts to the main line where possible during new model program planning and development. Coordinate efforts to review program-based manufacturing issues, align on corrective actions, and cascade to affected areas. Work with counterparts in Vehicle Architecture, Body Construction, and Final Assembly Engineering to quickly align on product design and manufacturing issues. Support resolution of Major Architecture and High Investment Plant High Hurts to help mitigate Launch risks in Forward Model Development. Travel to our North American assembly plants for site reviews as required Established and active employee resource groups Bachelor's degree minimum with Engineering discipline preferred 3+ years' experience in Final Assembly Process & Tooling Development or equivalent manufacturing experience One major program Launch (UP / UN > 4) or discipline equivalent Extensive knowledge of manufacturing process and tooling development for upper body, underbody and/or powertrain Experience with Benchmarking Resources Extensive knowledge of GMRs (Global Manufacturing Requirements) Working knowledge of DPA5 tools (GSPAS/VPS, APT, Easy Plan, Teamcenter, PFMEA, SCCAFs, Error proofing, etc.)
