Position Summary:
Central Coating Technologies is searching for an additional Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. You will be accountable for meeting or exceeding engineering goals and objectives, and cultivating detailed knowledge of company products, processes, materials, and market end use.
The candidate will be directly responsible for both integrating new projects onto the manufacturing floor, and improving existing processes, under the guidance of Product Managers and the Manufacturing Manager. Generating, understanding, and improving run rates, yields, scrap rates, tooling/fixtures, part BOMs, process instructions/training, and ergonomics is imperative. Some customer-facing communication will be necessary to clarify technical details. Managing project priorities independently and implementing robust manufacturing processes is paramount.

Supervision and Interaction:
Reports directly to Vice President, indirectly to Product Managers and the Manufacturing Manager, works with and interfaces with President, Quality Manager, Paint Manager, Engineers, Sales Team, Customer Service, and Production Associates.

Essential Functions:

  • Learn, review, and understand all product capabilities pertaining to Central Coating. This includes but is not limited to painting, compounds, form-in-place gaskets, conformal coatings, robotics, and electromechanical assembly.
  • Provide technical engineering support by collaborating with existing employees effectively.
  • Understand and leverage company systems to structure part routings, work instructions, reports, and performance summaries.
  • Design and manufacture part tooling/fixturing in accordance with capability standards, internal price structure, and external customer requirements.
  • Refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, establishing industry networks, and benchmarking state-of-the-art engineering practices.
  • The candidate should have the ability to work within the company’s established quality system by following policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Develop a daily, weekly, monthly routine that organizes your activities and ability to keep upwith requirements.
  • Provide knowledge, energy, and a can-do attitude with associates and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science and/or Engineering Degree
  • 1 - 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment in similar market background (Electronics, EMI/RFI products, electromechanical assemblies). Experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree or vice versa.
  • SolidWorks or solid modeling experience.
  • Microsoft Office competency.
  • 3D printing and CNC experience are a plus.
  • Proven ability in managing customer needs, formulating plans, coordinating activities, and delivering results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines required with self-reliance and little oversight.
  • Ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement techniques in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and top management.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
  • Ability to work with others in an effective manner, showing leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Six Sigma and Lean tools experience is desired.
  • Outstanding teamwork and technical communication skills.
