Job Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining accuracy and efficiency of production processes such as CNC mills, lathes, and grinders to prepare for production. This engineer will create and monitor production processes (measurement methods, tooling and programs) to correct and troubleshoot errors to improve production. This position will be responsible for developing CNC processes for new product launches, making corrections/improvements, and maintaining documents for production. This position will also work directly with the CNC manufacturing engineers and work closely with the process engineers and process technicians.

Responsibilities

Process support
Daily process support to maintain optimum production throughput.
Generate, edit and maintain CNC program files, program hard copies, setup sheets, simulations and tooling lists for specified machines using revision tracking where applicable.
Must select the proper cutting tools and tool holders for a given process such as mill, lathe, grind, and others.
Develop new product processes and process improvements with the engineering group for efficient and timely new part launches.
Interpret blueprints and solid models to develop CNC programs for mills, lathes, grinders, and others.
Making decisions of any tooling, gauges, and equipment need to be replaced/rebuilt or new capacity to be acquired.
Working with OEM and contractors for training on new equipment purchase and maintenance of existing equipment
Participate in APQP of new products for efficient launch.
Continuous improvement of existing products.

Development of work holding tooling / fixtures that meet the functional and dimensional requirements of the product.
Identify and recommend optimal and cost-effective perishable tooling.
. 3. Quality Support
Assist in defining appropriate measurement methods and tools.
Assist in corrective actions to quality concerns and issues.
Assist in development of gauge reliability and repeatability as needed
