Description

Program and maintain CNC Mills, Laser Punch combos and other machinery. Improving manufacturing processes and train staff on operation.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • Programming and running CNC machinery in a manufacturing setting
  • Programming HAAS VF series machines
  • Experience with Trumpf machinery and TrueTops programming
  • G-codes and blueprint reading
  • Must enjoy teamwork, learning, teaching, variety, and working with your hands
  • Good problem solving, written and verbal communication, and self-management skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
  • Well-versed in relevant software (Fusion 360,TruTops etc.)
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Proven ability to lead and manage projects from conception through completion, often under tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable with manual crafting
  • Understanding that safety is paramount
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Able to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds
  • Able to stand for long periods

Responsibilities
  • Program and run CNC mill, laser punch combo, press brake and more
  • Program additional custom CNC machines and controllers
  • Install, set up, operate, troubleshoot and maintain CNC and other machinery
  • Run production and prototyping jobs
  • Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly
  • Work closely with product engineers, designers, contractors and suppliers
  • Provide product design feedback for machine and production optimization
  • Train staff to properly operate CNC and other machinery
  • Develop CNC programs using HSM Works or Fusion 360 for 3 or 4 axis mills
  • Develop CNC programs using Trutops for Trumpf Laser Punch combo
  • Set up machinery, analyze drawings, design data to calculate correct part dimension for machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
  • Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment. Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity requirements and QA testing to ensure products meet design specifications
  • Develop in house tools for production
  • Design and produce fixtures and QA Jigs
  • Provide product design feedback for machine and production optimization
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed
  • Study and advise regarding production vs. machine requirements
  • Develop and test effective automated and manual systems
  • Evaluate manufacturing workflows and resources
  • Integrate disparate systems (e.g. equipment handling, transport)
  • Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations etc
  • Resolve issues and delays in production
  • Find ways to reduce costs and maximize quality
  • Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations
  • Upgrade systems and processes with new technology
  • Other duties as assigned
