Description
Core Molding Technologies is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to support new product development, production efficiency, and process improvement initiatives. This role focuses on planning and improving manufacturing methods, optimizing work cell layouts, and supporting quality and cost targets across molding and assembly operations. Responsibilities * Develop and maintain manufacturing processes and parameters for high-quality part production * Plan and improve work cell layouts using CAD and workforce planning tools * Analyze production times, capacity, labor needs, and packaging strategies * Lead scrap reduction, downtime elimination, and efficiency improvement efforts * Collaborate with cross-functional teams on tooling, quality, and process changes * Create and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, work instructions, and process sheets * Conduct cycle time studies, balance production lines, and set standard work times * Coordinate with Maintenance on preventive maintenance for process equipment * Develop fixtures, tools, and low-level automation for assembly and molding operations * Support continuous improvement (SPQDC), lean initiatives, and raw material flow * Work with external vendors to source, qualify, and implement new equipment * Train and mentor production and maintenance staff on new processes Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related scientific discipline * 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred) * Familiarity with QS/ISO systems, APQP, PPAP processes * Proven success in leading cost reduction, quality improvement, or scrap reduction initiatives * Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally * Proficient in Microsoft Office and CAD tools * Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills * Willingness to support weekend or off-hours needs when required Preferred * Master’s degree in Engineering or Business * 5+ years in a manufacturing engineering role * Experience in molding, assembly, or automotive component manufacturing Job Details * Schedule: Monday to Friday (may require extended hours or weekend support) * Travel: Limited local travel; occasional overnight travel as needed * Work Environment: Office and manufacturing floor * Physical Requirements: Occasionally lift or move up to 20 lbs Why Join Us * Competitive pay * Full benefits package * Paid time off and holidays * Opportunity to impact operations through hands-on problem-solving Recruiters We do not accept unsolicited resumes from third-party agencies.
