Description
JOB SUMMARY   Primarily responsible for the development and management of molding processes.  In support of this responsibility, the Engineer will keep a schedule of their projects, manage timelines, and report timelines to the Quality Manager, Engineering Manager, Production, Sales Manager, Customer Service, and appropriate salesman.  The Engineer will coordinate with internal fabrication and external fabrication to meet goals.  Minor projects associated with the design and construction of support equipment will occasionally be required.   DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS   1. Approve designs of plastic and rubber molds 2. Create bill of materials for mold designs and purchase necessary items to complete job 3. Interface with Machine Shop personnel and vendors to produce molds to specification 4. Control cost of new mold builds 5. Maintain timeline of project and report to Sales on progress 6. Aid in development of production processes 7. Support maintenance team in machine repair as needed 8. Support Production Departments in the troubleshooting of molds and molding processes 9. Solidworks experience a plus 10.  CNC or Manual machining experience a plus 11. Experience with designing injection molds a plus 12. Experience with Rubber or Plastic molding a plus 13. Ability to properly document designs 14. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including the ability to self-motivate 15. Leadership capabilities and aptitude     OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Ability to take accurate measurements and perform basic calculations * Understand and communicate details logically and accurately in English * Accurately record information in writing and/or in Epicor system * Other duties as assigned   REQUIREMENTS: * Associate degree in any engineering discipline * BS Degree or working towards a BS degree in an engineering discipline * Experience in Rubber and/or Plastic molding a plus, but not required   Occasionally: reach above shoulder with both hands, lift/carry up to 25 lbs. Frequently: lift upward with both arms outstretched, count and calculate, communicate details Constantly: stand, reach outward with both hands, handle/finger, wrist and elbow flexion, rotation and articulation Other:  Near point vision, sense of touch, tolerance for temperature in a non-controlled environment
