Work Hours/ Shift/ Remote
The work schedule will be Monday to Friday during day shift only. No remote work available. Extended work weeks include Saturdays and/or Sundays or holidays as requested or required based on business needs. May be required to travel to other locations as per business needs.
Responsibilities/ Accountabilities
• Perform all functions according to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Under the guidance of the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager or Engineering Manager.
• The primary responsibility of this position is to support the design, modification and troubleshooting of existing high-speed pharmaceutical packaging equipment and the creation of vision system recipes. Implement improvements to increase equipment efficiency and prevent equipment obsolescence.
• Investigate current equipment performance to identify problems and solutions. •Work with operators, quality assurance, and maintenance to identify and implement necessary improvements.
• Prepare and execute User Requirement Specifications, Functional Requirement Specifications, Design Specifications/Qualifications, Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test, Installation Qualifications, Performance Qualifications, Operational Qualifications, Machinability Studies, and Standard Operating Procedures as necessary for new and modified equipment.
• Develop relationships with key vendors for technical support and for assistance in hardware applications.
• Give instructions and training to Machine Mechanics and Manufacturing Operators.
• Participate in generation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) related to assigned equipment.
• Promote correct and good use of all equipment in the manufacturing area.
• Recommend equipment maintenance improvement to reduce costs and safety hazards.
• Provide immediate feedback to the Supervisor or HOD on unsafe equipment or working conditions.
• Collaborate with other engineers and/or mechanics to set up, troubleshoot, and repair process equipment.
• Adhere to Cipla Safety, Health, and Environmental policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or mechatronics Engineering, or related field of study and one to three years’ minimum experience.
Experience
• Experience with high-speed automated visual inspection equipment, and manufacturing machinery design.
• Ability to read construction and process drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Analytical troubleshooting skills with packaging equipment and vision systems.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills, good documentation skills, good organizational skills, and good interpersonal skills.
