Description
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing a broad range of professional continuous improvement support to the manufacturing operations. Tasks include providing lead project responsibility for the execution of projects and project assignments within the Operational Excellence department; develop engineering and process control documentation for manufacturing needs; provide coordination and technical guidance to production personnel as appropriate. You will support planning and execution of technical projects related to manufacturing methods, material flow, processes, facilities, systems, and equipment upon gaining comprehensive knowledge of existing capabilities and new technologies. This role will manage capital projects, evaluate, and initiate orders for machinery and other equipment required for production processes. This role focuses heavily on reducing waste, cost, inefficiencies, while increasing value and driving lean transformation in assigned production areas by leading/participating in continuous improvement (CI) activities (Kaizen events, use of Six Sigma tools, Lean Material Flow, etc.) Key Responsibilites: Identify and execute cost-out projects through productivity improvements Promote a culture of continuous improvement by applying lean manufacturing techniques to eliminate waste and deliver products to customers' expectations Develop and maintain robust, cost-efficient manufacturing processes Integrate equipment and systems using Industry 4.0, including implementing Automation Lead and support execution of capital projects as defined by plant leadership Use ELSS tools and CI strategies to improve performance on assigned production lines Lead formulation of manufacturing documentation, standard work sheets, control plans, and production area layouts Conduct time studies to establish or verify labor standards Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent engineering experience from co-op/internships Experience using CAD software (i.e., AutoCAD, Inventor, Solids Works, Creo, etc.) Experience with robotics or automation Industry 4.0 digitalization experience Project management experience Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and facilitation skills Strong communication and presentation skills Understanding and use of lean tools Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, and A3) used to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions Ability to travel approximately 10%
