Description

Corvid’s FuzingSafety Technology Group is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer. This critical position will lead the qualification and production efforts for our rapidly growing electronic and electro-mechanical products portfolio. This position will help establish and lead the process of taking our concepts to production. The ideal candidate will have experience in the aerospace and defense industry, understanding how design decisions impact product efforts. Candidate will lead efforts to establish low and/or high-rate production initiatives. Candidate will need to enjoy not just leading but also being hands on, executing early prototyping and manufacturing efforts.
This role will be critical in supporting product fabrication of special equipment, tooling and fixturing for product assembly and testing, and development/generation of critical processes and work instructions for each new product. Candidate will need to be comfortable working across the organization to build relationships and establish a strong, efficient and reliable electro-mechanical manufacturing process. This will include working closely with design engineers, helping to understand the impact of design changes on the long term producibility of the products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
  • Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related STEM discipline) and at least 4 years of relevant experience (experience may substitute for degree)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, ability to mentor/grow engineering talent and working across various stakeholder organizations is required
  • Preferred candidate will have working knowledge or certification related to IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, or IPC/WHMA-A-620
  • Experience in aerospace and defense industry, particularly with defense electronics and/or electro-mechanical assembly is preferred
  • Candidate with experience implementing and utilizing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems is a plus
Responsibilities
  • Ownership of manufacturing processes for electronic and electro-mechanical assembly
  • Creating and maintaining work instructions for a diverse range of products
  • Setting up the production line including order of operations and physical flow
  • Design tooling and fixtures necessary to support production, select and set up equipment for initial (and increasing) capacity
  • Coordinate with remote design team to provide feedback related to manufacturability as well as preparing for production requirements - facilitating the transition to production
  • Creating estimates of touch and support labor for new proposals as well as performing capacity analysis and time studies
  • Lead and mentor a growing team of manufacturing engineers and assembly personnel
  • Leading and/or supporting continuous process improvement and design for manufacturability initiatives
