Description We are actively seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team. FIC America Corp. is a global Tier 1 automotive components manufacturer centrally located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. Essential Job Functions Oversee a variety of automated equipment and processes, such as Welding (Spot, MIG / TIG, Vibration, Laser, Ultrasonic, and Plasma) and Stamping (Transfer, Progression and Blanking) Prepare design (hand and CAD) sketches and blueprints of machinery, fixtures, and layouts Calculate and analyze lead, takt, and cycle times to optimize production Analyze layouts of equipment, workflow, and assembly needs to devise methods to maximize efficiency Program, monitor, and modify Programmable Logic Controllers (e.g. -Mitsubishi PLC, Allen Bradley, and Omron) to meet safety standards and production goals Demonstrated Team Player with good communication skills (written & verbal) Process equipment evaluation, specifications, procurement, and implementation Coordinate with production personnel, vendors, and external contractors to implement process improvements (Kaizens) Structured problem solving experience (e.g. - 5 Why’s, 8D) Complete supporting documentation, such as poka-yoke, changeover procedures, and welding conditions to comply with TS requirements Work with robotic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HMI systems to meet safety standards and customer requirements Follow standard work instructions (e.g. - LOTO, Arc Flash, documentation) Primary focus on Safety Perform other duties assigned Other Job Functions Comply with FIC’s Safety policies and procedures Comply with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 procedures and standards Perform 5-S activities Requirements 2+ years’ minimum of experience in a similar role Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar program Must have proficient oral and written communication skills Must be willing to cross-train Must be able to work company’s required overtime Must comply with FIC’s Attendance and Punctuality Policy Pay Range $75,000 - $95,000 year, based on qualifications and experience Benefits Offered Medical plans offered through Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Delta Dental, and VSP Vision Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Healthcare FSA, Dependent Care FSA, and Transit FSA 401(k) – Company will match 50% of the first 6% you contribute to your 401(k) Basic Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability paid by employer Optional Supplemental Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability (Employee Paid) Vacation, Holiday, and Personal Days Paid About FIC America Corp.
