Description
Design and develop and document manufacturing processes including production flow, tooling, fixtures, automation and testing equipment by applying knowledge of product design and manufacturing processes, product performance specifications, process acceptance criteria, and product /system testing. Develop poka-yoke and fixturing strategies to be used in reducing process variation in assembly processes. Use structured problem-solving techniques to investigate and countermeasure process and product failures, equipment failures, and quality issues, identify root cause and implement solutions Plans and implements improvement initiatives in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC). Participate in new product design review and review/approve part drawings from engineering and support the transition of new products from Design Engineering to manufacturing. Applies lean manufacturing tools such as Standard Work, 5S and VRK to solve production problems by Facilitating the implementation and sustainment of the various lean manufacturing tools. Support the Engineering Change Order (ECO) system from generation through implementation. Perform engineering pilot runs for part and process validation. Provide manufacturing engineering support to meet and exceed customer quality and delivery expectations as well as collaborate with cross functional team on equipment reliability and improvement project. Participate in the execution of PFMEA's, qualification and validation protocols to verify equipment/process capabilities Strong analytical skills, ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy. Critical Success Factors: Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, tools, and technologies. Customer focused problem solving through active listening and experimentation Shows initiative when action needs to be taken. Commitment to continuous improvement through application of lean principles and Kaizen Provide training to affected associates on new and updated processes to ensure proper implementation and adherence. Ability to own multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrates a high sense of urgency. Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field required. SolidWorks and/or ProE drawing and modelling/drafting. Familiarity with mechanical inspection using tools, such as, calipers, Micrometers, gauges, etc. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Working knowledge of transducers, flow/level switches and/or other measuring sensors. Basic familiarity with ISO:9001 standards. Understanding of regulatory requirements related to RoHS and REACH.
