POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II based in its Reamstown, PA manufacturing facility. Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for optimizing CNC machining processes, reducing cycle times, and driving continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles. They will c ollaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process reliability, reduce downtime, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). The Manufacturing Engineer II will lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across machining and assembly operations by implementing SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Dies) techniques to reduce changeover times. They will design and optimize fixturing solutions to improve part stability and throughput and provide hands-on production line support to resolve process bottlenecks and technical issues.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $90,000 - $105,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for multi-axis machining centers used in the production of door automation systems and industrial components while providing day-to-day technical support to machining cells, including troubleshooting programs, tooling, and equipment issues
  • Collaborate with machinists and operators to improve setup efficiency, reduce cycle times, ensure consistent part quality and participate and initiate lean activities and improvement projects to support overall manufacturing efficiency and safety throughout the plant
  • Interpret complex part drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to create efficient machining strategies and tool paths
  • Support new product introductions by developing CNC programs and coordinating first article inspectionsTrain operators and technicians on CNC programming updates, machining best practices, and new equipment.
