SUMMARY  Are you passionate about transforming manufacturing processes and driving operational excellence? As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you’ll play a pivotal role in optimizing fabrication, welding, powder coating, and assembly operations. You’ll lead initiatives that enhance productivity, ergonomics, and plant flow—while collaborating across teams to solve complex challenges and deliver measurable results.  Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer II role offers a dynamic mix of hands-on engineering, strategic problem-solving, and occasional travel for training, field support, and equipment commissioning.  Key Responsibilities  * Analyze and improve production processes using A3 methodology and data-driven insights  * Drive performance in Earned vs. Paid metrics and First Pass Yield through continuous improvement  * Design and route fixtures and tooling using MRP and CAD software  * Lead root cause analysis and implement timely corrective actions  * Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met  * Collaborate with Quality Engineers, Production Supervisors, and CWIs to resolve production challenges  * Support Workforce Development by integrating technical training for direct and indirect labor  * Lead the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process for the ME team, ensuring accuracy and knowledge sharing  * Prioritize projects using data with a focus on Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Delivery  * Qualify new processes, including documentation, operator training, and certification  * Work independently while communicating effectively across all levels of the organization  Qualifications & Skills  * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (preferred)  * 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering  * Strong analytical skills and ability to drive results through data  * Experience in custom fabrication and welding in a high-mix, low-volume environment  * Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word  * Familiarity with Lean principles, Kaizen, 5S, SMED, and lead time reduction  * Excellent written and verbal communication skills  * Flexible and adaptable to changing production needs  * Embodies our 12 Expected Behaviors of an Actively Engaged Person: 100% Responsible, Trustworthy, Team Player, Clear Communicator, Empathy, Humility, Emotional Self-Control, Resolves Conflict Directly, Positive Attitude, Respects Others, Problem Solver, Agile  Additional Information  * This is a full-time, onsite role in Janesville, WI  * Occasional travel required (~10%)  * Background check required upon selection  Benefits & Perks  We offer a competitive compensation package designed to support your personal and professional growth:  * Medical, dental, and vision insurance  * Generous Responsible Time Off (RTO) policy  * 401(k) with company match  * Key Employee Incentive Plan (KEIP) bonus structure  * Paid training and company holidays
