Description The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing plans, processes, and documentation to ensure high-quality production that meets aerospace industry standards. This role requires a strong understanding of AS9100 standards, producibility assessments, and supplier integration, while maintaining compliance with ITAR regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Requirements Duties and Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing plans, Bills of Materials (BOMs), work instructions, and illustrations to define and document as-built configurations across multiple programs. Own and continuously improve documentation and standard operating procedures for complex manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards. Lead cost analysis efforts, presenting actionable recommendations to executive leadership and influencing capital investment decisions. Deep understanding of special processes (Heat treat, chrome plating, HVOF thermal spray, nickel Plating, passivation, cadmium plating, part cleaning, packaging, prime and paint ECT.) to process landing gear parts Serve as the technical authority for GD&T application and interpretation, ensuring tolerancing strategies align with design intent and manufacturing capabilities. Manage supplier integration, overseeing qualifications of new vendors, process validation, and compliance with delivery and quality standards. Review and approve customer data packages, ensuring full alignment with engineering and manufacturing requirements. Champion continuous improvement programs, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and digital transformation initiatives. Lead producibility assessments for new product, collaborating with engineering to influence manufacturability and reduce lifecycle costs. Provide strategic guidance to design teams on manufacturing technologies, materials, and processes to meet aggressive cost and schedule targets. Develop and manage integrated work statements, production schedules, and sequencing plans to meet program milestones and delivery commitments. Serve as project manager for cross-functional manufacturing initiatives, coordinating resources, timelines, and deliverables across engineering, quality, and operations. Support multi-shift operations, providing leadership and technical direction to ensure continuity and responsiveness to production needs. Mentor and guide engineers, fostering technical growth and promoting a culture of excellence and accountability. Collaborate across departments, including design, quality, supply chain, and program management, to ensure seamless execution of manufacturing strategies. Perform other engineering duties as required. Qualifications Education and Experience: Minimum 6-9+ years’ experience in engineering and manufacturing, (aerospace preferred). Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex engineering projects Bachelor’s degree in engineering Or equivalent work experience Skills & Knowledge: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (EPICOR or equivalent) Deep understanding of AS9100 standards and aerospace regulatory requirements Strong background in quality control, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning Expert-level proficiency in GD&T, including application, inspection, and training others in tolerancing principles Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage projects, and influence stakeholders Expert-level proficiency in CAD/CAM software and simulation tools Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
