Description
Develop, optimize, and validate liquid classes and integrate Hamilton liquid handlers. Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment, including Hamilton liquid handlers (codebase and hardware) and custom automation equipment. Support Manufacturing areas, I.e. perform day-to-day routine equipment maintenance, troubleshoot and repair equipment, schedule calibration/preventative maintenance, organize lab operation processes, and support general lab activities along with the automation team to promote an efficient working environment Support existing automation infrastructure with troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Perform complex equipment repair and maintenance with focus on quality and safety. Analyze performance data and establish trends, identify errors and make improvements to systems to ensure reliability and improve yield. Support equipment transfers, installations and validation activities. Develop work instruction and qualification documentation for new equipment and review existing documents regularly and update when needed. Collaborate with EH&S and Facilities teams to ensure a safe and functional lab environment Support deployment and upkeep of a global CMMS database and digital record archive system. Contribute to cross-functional and intra-functional LCE projects (e.g. continuous improvement) Bachelor's Degree/master's degree in Engineering, Life Science, Computer Science or equivalent. 5 years experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment, with 3 years experience focused on automation and liquid handling. Strong troubleshooting skills with demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve issues with industrial and laboratory equipment, specifically Hamilton liquid handlers. Experience with liquid class development and peripheral integration for automated liquid handling systems. Experience with life science instrumentation and processes. Excellent organization and prioritization skills Strong communication skills: listening, speaking, writing, and interacting Proficiency in utilizing data analysis tools, including spreadsheets and specialized software, to drive informed engineering decisions, optimize processes, and report on key performance indicators. Strong team collaboration skills Detail-oriented with experience driving tasks and meeting deadlines Must be flexible, forward-thinking, motivated, and have the ability to act independently while balancing a broad range of organizational needs Demonstrated skill in problem-solving and the ability to handle operations issues in a fast-paced environment with a customer-focused attitude Experience with biological instrumentation, specifically Hamilton liquid handler equipment and their software (e.g., VENUS software). Proven track record in developing and validating complex liquid classes and extensive experience in peripheral integration for automated liquid handling workstations. Experience capturing and communicating facility requirements for life science equipment Basic knowledge of PLC programming (Allen Bradley) is nice to have Experience with electrical wiring and troubleshooting is nice to have Mechanical design experience with Solidworks is an advantage. Basic knowledge of general programming skills (Python) Experience with a CMMS. Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments (GMP or ISO 13485) a plus.
