Description

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for sustaining existing production lines and transferring new products from development to high-volume manufacturing. This role will reduce process and product variation, reduce production costs, and increase production efficiency. They will identify and implement process improvement projects that support the financial and strategic priorities of the organization. They will have a broad skill set in the areas of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Biomedical/Industrial Engineering.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in creating and revising technical documents in a document control system.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repair of equipment and process related issues.
  • JMP or Minitab statistical software is a plus.
  • LabVIEW experience is a plus.
  • Strong hands-on prototyping skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots equipment and process related issues using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Coordinates and/or executes the repair of equipment and fixturing to minimize downtime.
  • Continuously evaluates equipment and processes to improve cycle time, reduce scrap, and improve efficiencies.
  • Assists in the layout and installation of equipment and facilities for existing and future production lines.
  • Assists in coordinating the release of new products and processes.
  • Provides training to operation and quality control personnel on existing and future equipment and processes.
  • Creates and revises standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Develops and writes test protocols, test reports, technical documents, etc. to support manufacturing needs.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements to meet business needs.
  • Works in a cross-functional team to resolve complex problems that arise.
