MANUFACTURING ENGINEER (F/M/X)

Role purpose:
ITP Aero UK are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Fan and Combustion Systems team in Hucknall - UK on a full-time permanent basis, 37 hours per week.
Fan and Combustion Systems manufactures world-class Combustors, Casings and OGV aerofoils using advanced manufacturing techniques.

Your main responsibilities / What you will do:

  • Develop, implement, validate, maintain, and control Methods of Manufacture to realise part designs.
  • Create and maintain the technical package for the shop floor for the manufacture of parts. This will include Technical Instructions, Manufacturing Stage Drawings, Production Routers and control them effectively.
  • Use of Build in Quality tools such as Process Maps, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEAs), and Control Plans.
  • Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes
  • Day to day planning of projects in line with IPPR gates, resolve technical problems and exercise professional judgement
  • Liaison with others as design, manufacturing, quality, and purchasing to ensure delivery of parts to set timescales, targeted costs and verifying the design intent has been met.
  • Support production to ensure product flow in the factory and drive continuous improvements to eliminate the need for concessions and rework.
  • Control and reduce costs to drive profitability in the factory by continuously challenging the methods of manufacture and the designs.

Who we are looking for:
· A minimum of a HND in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering (Degree course could be funded if the candidate has suitable experience).
· Has general understanding of manufacturing and special processes relevant to the business.
· Has general awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP, Technical Publications, Siemens Team centre, etc.) relevant to the business.
· Has good understanding of Manufacturing Engineering processes relevant to their role in the product lifecycle.
· Has good communications skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
· A background in aerospace engineering.
· Understanding of Manufacturing Special Processes.
· Sound understanding of problem solving techniques such as DMAIC principles.
