Invinity Energy Systems is an exciting international and growing company who design and produce flow batteries which are changing how we store our energy by providing a safe, reliable and economical alternative to conventional storage solutions. We are looking for people with a passion for renewable energy; we are small enough that every team member plays a critical role in our daily business but large enough that the batteries we build are being deployed at significant scale in landmark clean energy projects around the world. A compelling opportunity has now arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Degree Qualified (or equivalent) in Manufacturing, Electrical, Industrial Mechanical (or similar) with, ideally, a minimum of 5 years experience of:
· Manufacturing and assembly of mechanical and electrical products in prototype, pre-series and series production phases
· Knowledge of control system wiring, from control panel to process sensors, motors, valves
· Assembly and handling of large equipment (up to 30tons) in the form of ISO containers
· Understanding of manufacturing processes and improvement techniques
· Knowledge of process automation selection and implementation is advantageous
· Able to produce supporting documentation, procedures, method statements and risk assessments
· Understanding of manufacturing management processes: BOM, ERP resource and capacity planning
· Understanding of and adherence to Health and Safety procedures
· Proficiency in MS Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy
· Excellent problem-solving skills; analytic and decisive decision maker
· Flexible and innovative approach to solving design and manufacturing issues during assembly process

Responsibilities

ROLE INTRODUCTION

In this role, you will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and work to help bridge the gap between engineering and production, ensuring smooth processes from design to assembly. You’ll implement controls to convert engineering concepts into practical build processes, manage production documentation, and continuously improve manufacturing methods using LEAN practices. You’ll also provide technical support, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to automation projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provide technical support to manufacturing on all aspects of mechanical and electrical assembly
· Implementing the controls necessary to ensure that engineering concepts and drawings are converted to documented, workable build processes for use by the manufacturing team
· Manage/create/control all production documentation including product build instructions and engineering design changes into a manufacturing environment
· Produce method statements and risk assessments in line with H&S requirements
· Review and improve all production processes and refine using LEAN methodologies
· Define and track manufacturing activities in the factory, liaising constantly with our product design and procurement teams
· Liaise between project management, manufacturing and engineering to deliver on time projects
· Work closely with the cross-functional teams to transfer new products from the New Product Introduction phase into production - this includes shopfloor layout, equipment requirements and manufacturing processes
· Identify the tools and fixtures required to manufacture and assemble IES (Invinity Energy Systems) products to the specifications and tolerances required
· Participate in design reviews to enhance product manufacturability
· Contribute and lead in the development and updating of PFMEAs & Value Stream Maps
· Participate in developing key process automation requirements for multilocation facilities
