Job Description

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in such discipline as industrial engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years’ minimum experience in manufacturing engineering role
  • Must have experience in tool and die design, including; fixtures, gages and progressive dies (forming, bending, piercing, coining, extrusions)
  • Experienced in Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly
  • Experienced in designing fixtures, tooling and/or gages required for efficient manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge in identifying/specifying equipment required for implementing in house manufacturing capabilities
  • Familiar with various manufacturing and assembly processes especially those related to metal working
  • Skilled in application of fundamental engineering principles involving the calculation of failure analysis using stress, strain, fatigue etc.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in 3D CAD and drawing detailing, Solidworks preferred.
  • Familiarity with TQM and Lean Six Sigma principles is preferred
  • Familiarity with traditional stage gate development processes as well as agile style design processes is preferred
  • Proven ability to professionally engage with decision makers and technical counterparts such as but not limited to Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations and Management to design and implement manufacturing processes.

The ability to:

  • Work in an environment that is exposed to elements in Flexco manufacturing plant environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% or time, sometimes over weekends.
  • Driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborating with a small group of engineers and technicians to successfully execute manufacturing related projects aligned with the company objectives.
  • Collaborating with Continuous Improvement team amongst others to optimize existing manufacturing processes for improved safety, quality, delivery and cost goals by utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Providing information as needed for important manufacturing decisions involving calculating production, labor and material costs and estimating future requirements by taking into account, capability, capacity, cost, upstream and downstream processes and effects on total manufacturing system.
  • Researching and Recommending the purchase of new equipment and/or modifications to existing equipment to improve operations.
  • Analyze and plan work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address and resolve manufacturing related quality issues.
  • Recommend maintenance procedures, spare parts inventory etc. required to maximize production efficiency of production equipment and minimize their downtime.
  • Design and manage fabrication and implementation of fixtures, tooling and gages required for new or improved manufacturing operations.
