            JOB DESCRIPTION       TITLE Manufacturing Engineer l ENTRY LEVEL - RECENT COLLEGE GRADS WELCOME TO APPLY   JOB #   JD-089   DATE   November 21, 2024   FLSA   Non-Exempt   LOCATION   Lake Bluff   REPORTS TO   Manager Engineering and Technical Services   POSITION SUMMARY   The Manufacturing Engineer position supports the manufacturing of adhesive and abrasive coating operations at Jessup Manufacturing Company. This is achieved by optimizing cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards, recommending. and implementing improvements to production processes, methods, and controls; coordinating manufacturing launch for new or revised products and equipment; Leads the specification, vendor qualification and implementation of new equipment and processes. The effectiveness of this position will be measured by the performance improvement from the baseline cost, efficiency or utilization of the project completed.   RESPONSIBILITIES • Improves new and existing manufacturing processes for cost reduction, quality, or efficiency. This is achieved by, planning workflow, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, equipment, layout and materials; soliciting input from operators, equipment suppliers and industry experts.   • Coordinates between production teams the manufacturing launch of new/revised processes and equipment including project management, establishing goals, monitoring effectiveness. • Completes design and development projects by documenting ISO compliant work instructions, training, and guiding technicians. • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. • Performs other duties as assigned by department supervisor   • Maintain technical data logs relating to manufacturing processes   • Leverages engineering techniques aid in trouble shooting product quality for      trail and non-trail products.          EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE   • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent • 2 years’ Engineering experience in product manufacturing environment • Understanding in the implementation of LEAN and Kaizen principles • Strong analytical and communication skills • History of applicable Engineering Internships • Proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office programs • Experience with CAD programs a plus   SKILLS   • Technical Capacity in manufacturing   •      Web Handling •      Coatings   •      Converting • Effective Project Management -Mechanical aptitude   • Problem Solving/Analysis • Experimental discipline   • Leadership • Communication Proficiency   • Knowledge of ISO9001 QMS
