POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Engineer is primarily responsible for the Routings for every process at J-Star Motion. Additionally, this role will help establish robust processes with the other Manufacturing Engineers. Responsibilities could also include working in 3D CAD (using SolidWorks/Creo) programming of equipment, continuous improvement activities, and other related work.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering preferred.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  1. Knowledge of SAP preferred (proficiency in some ERP system required)
  2. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  3. Must have knowledge of computers, machining, and assembly practices.
  4. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and make presentations.
  5. Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees
  6. Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  7. Must excel at working in a team environment.
  8. General understanding of CAD and CAM software.

Responsibilities
  1. Establish and maintain routings in SAP for new and existing products.
  2. Conduct regular time studies to ensure accuracy of the routings.
  3. Partner with Manufacturing Supervisors to understand the actual flow of material and information.
  4. Partner with the Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Engineers to identify and correct areas that are performing less than optimally.
  5. Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of routings, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, product design, or materials.
  6. Learning all aspects of the J-Star products and their flow through the supply chain and the facility.
  7. Be able to answer questions regarding products and programs.
  8. Ability to use 3D CAD (Using SolidWorks/Creo) as needed to perform responsibilities.
  9. Create and maintain engineering data in the PLM system.
  10. Designing and procuring tools/equipment.
  11. Evaluating and solving production and engineering problems.
  12. Willing to travel occasionally for training or field support.
