We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering Team based at our site in Glenrothes.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing process including, standards, process operations, PDI industrialization, and process optimization. Driving improvements in terms of EHS, NPI, quality, cost and delivery.

EDUCATION

  • Relevant engineering degree is preferred. HND is essential.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • IOSH Working Safely

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment required.
  • Operating in a fast-paced environment to challenging deadlines.
  • Experience in Cable/ Fibre Optic Industry desirable

  • Experience in Microsoft EXCEL, PowerPoint, Word and Project
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to communicate with all areas of the business.
  • Excellent presentation skills, as presentation of project proposals to both external and internal customers.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support the Operations Department in the development and implementation of a world-class production facility to serve large global Customers with best-in-class performance.
  • Assist with manufacturing process and ensure it is optimised for best productivity and efficiency and that all critical to quality aspects are identified and controlled.
  • Develop a strategy for the manufacturing equipment within the facility, working with maintenance to ensure it is in optimum operating condition.
  • Identify any upgrades and modifications required to increase productivity and improve quality, and to implement modification/upgrades.
  • Support the justification and implementation of Capital Investment.
  • Support Senior Manufacturing Engineers to optimise process systems for operational efficiency and cost savings, with a focus on controlling and reducing scrap costs.
  • Maintain relationships with OEMs to keep abreast of new manufacturing technologies.
  • Work within cross teams to carry out Six Sigma projects and implement robust solutions to manufacturing problems.
  • Support the New Product Development program.
  • Effectively manage non-conforming product to ensure containment and root cause analysis
  • Ensure all manufacturing documentation is kept up to date.
  • Work in a safe and secure manner.

This position requires the job holder to possess excellent problem-solving skills, as well as analytical and creative thinking. The job holder must have the ability to operate on their own initiative but also contribute as a team member working with engineers from various disciplines.
