Job Title:  Manufacturing Engineer Reports to: Business Unit Leader FLSA Status: EXEMPT Schedule: Monday through Friday (8:00a to 5:00p) extended hours may be required to support business needs   Primary duties and responsibilities:   1. Responsible for process / systems compliance. 2. Responsible for statistical analysis of process data. 3. Active participation in new program / project launches. 4. Hands-on shop floor interactions with both management and production personnel. 5. Review and improvement of existing processes / efficiencies. 6. Lean Manufacturing process improvements. 7. Lead Kaizen / Continuous Improvement activities and responsible for cost saving documentation. 8. Responsible for performing time / motion studies to establish standard production rates or to improve efficiencies. 9. Will evaluate materials and develop machinery and processes to manufacture materials for use in products that must meet specialized design and performance specifications. 10. Plan and design tools and machines to enhance production flow / processes. 11. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. 12. Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. 13. Provide feedback on customer problems and needs. 14. Research, design, evaluate, install, operate and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements. 15. Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. 16. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports. 17. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned. 18. Regular and predictable attendance.   Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:   1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred. 2. Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible manufacturing, industrial, or project engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferably with fabrication, metal stamping, robotic, MIG, and resistance welding / assembly experience.   Physical environment/working conditions:  1. Works in a physical, plant environment along with Office.  The individual communicates regularly via computer and telephone with vendors, Plant Management, and employees.   Other (e.g., customer contact or access to confidential information):  1. Must be able to work as part of a team.  Must maintain confidentiality when working on assignments.
Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for ensuring process compliance and conducting statistical analysis of process data. They will also participate in new program launches and lead continuous improvement activities.
