Description

Pivotal Health Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Watertown, SD. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production. This role bridges product design and manufacturing, ensuring products are manufacturable, reliable, and meet quality standards. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities * Develop, optimize, and standardize manufacturing processes for new and existing products * Conduct DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) analysis to improve product manufacturability * Implement process flow, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) * Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve efficiency, yield, and throughput * Provide day-to-day support for manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting equipment and process issues * Collaborate with quality, production, and maintenance teams to resolve production problems * Perform root cause analysis for defects, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence * Support New Product Development by providing manufacturability input during design and prototyping * Develop process plans, tooling requirements, and production validation for new products * Conduct pilot builds and optimize production readiness before full-scale launch * Implement lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen events, and cost-reduction initiatives * Maintain metrics for production efficiency, yield, and quality improvements * Recommend and implement automation or technology upgrades where appropriate * Work closely with design engineers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product development and production * Maintain and update technical documentation including SOPs, BOMs, and work instructions * Assist in training production staff on new processes and equipment * Performs other duties as assigned Job Qualifications * Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related Engineering discipline * 3–5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment * Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment * Experience with CAD/CAE software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and process simulation tools * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying shop conditions (heat, dust, noise) * Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment * Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines * Strong attention to detail and documentation skills * Experience with DFMEA/PFMEA and tolerance analysis * Familiarity with prototype development and pilot production * Ability to provide design-for-manufacturability feedback to design engineers * New Equipment &process research, ROI’s, implementation Procedures Benefits * Pivotal Health Solutions offers a complete benefits package including 401K, paid time off, paid holidays and healthcare benefits.
