POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in overseeing the maintenance department within our flexible packaging manufacturing operations. This role will require a strong background in industrial engineering, with an emphasis on PM scheduling, inventory management, troubleshooting and equipment assessment. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with various departments to ensure the smooth operation of manufacturing processes, particularly with a focus on automation machinery.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
· 5-8 years of professional experience in manufacturing engineering preferably in the flexible packaging or related manufacturing industry (food & beverage).
· Proven experience with PM scheduling, troubleshooting and repairing machinery in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong technical expertise in industrial automation repair and troubleshooting.
· Experience working within the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) production facility is highly desirable.
· Exceptional leadership and organizational skills with a track record of managing teams effectively.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically while driving continuous improvement.
· Support the maintenance department in troubleshooting, product purchasing and repair.

PREFERRED SKILLS

· Experience with ERP systems and maintenance management software.
· Industrial Automation background.
· Ability to manage budgets and cost control for engineering projects.
· Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements in manufacturing (SQF, GMP, OSHA Safety, etc.)
· Experience with machinery OEM’s, Uteco, DCM, ATN, Totani and Nordmeccanica.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

· Lead and manage the maintenance department, ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime.
· Oversee the implementation and scheduling of preventative maintenance (PM) programs to ensure optimal performance of machinery, particularly automated systems.
· Develop and execute strategies for inventory management, assessment, and resource allocation.
· Research components of industrial motion control, RFQ and purchase for repairs or upgrades.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and resolve technical issues in manufacturing operations and machinery.
· Maintain and improve operational performance within the flexible packaging manufacturing environment.
· Apply leadership and organizational skills to effectively manage staff, schedules, and resources.
· Drive improvements in maintenance efficiency, machinery uptime, and cost control.
· Support the development and implementation of engineering solutions in automation, machinery, and processes.
· Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in all engineering activities.
· Prepare reports and analysis of department performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
· Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.
