Under supervision, performs and carries out various engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks pertaining to the design and development of manufacturing equipment, processes, and tooling. Follows a determined and rigid engineering practice and applies sound engineering principles to deliver optimal manufacturing solutions in guidance with quality/global standards. Researchers, specify, evaluates, recommends and implements new automation, equipment and/or processes, sustains existing processes and equipment by identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities, process, and productivity improvements, provides technical Works on components of an engineering project or operation. May manage small to medium projects in scope from start to finish in accordance with the company's policies. Continues to build working relationships internally along with externally. Job Description Responsible to provide engineering & technical support for all process and mold related issues for new and existing products Operate, set-up and maintain injection moulding machine. Ability to trouble-shoot moulding faults and provide technical support to production. Responsibilities Master the technical aspect of the product molding chracteristic and the knowledge of the machine function in molding process. To coordinate mold trials, tooling and molded part troubleshooting and carry out necessary engineering changes to ensure parts can be produced smoothly with the required quality Overall responsibility for implementation of molding and assembly processes for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. Perform DOE on molding process parameter for process window study. Establish optimum process parameters and meeting specific cycle time for new product. Attend to all daily quality and production related issues Participate in the Continuous Process Improvement and LEAN Programme to improve productivity, reduce scrap Work with internal cross functional team to evaluate Product Failure & identify root cause & make suggestion for improvement. Work closely with Quality team to conduct testing and consolidating report for approval review Main window person between product design group and any technical related concern or advise. Responsible as the local technical expert for the product and molding related concern between site and corporate design product group. Support auxiliary enhancement project as part of productivity improvement program. Requirements Degree in Materials/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Chemical Engineering At least 5-8 years of hands-on working experience in injection moulding with hands-on experience in scientific moulding methods and experience in handling & troubleshooting of moulds preferred Independently carry out technical analysis of problems and implementation of solutions Experience in PLC control system and automation would be added advantage Work Shift Office (Malaysia) Panduit thrives on ingenuity and enterprise.
