Description
Sortera Alloys is a Start-Up, State-of-the Art facility moving to Markle, Indiana. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer skilled in innovation and mechanical trouble-shooting of engineered processes. Design mechanical systems, equipment, and fixtures for material handling equipment. Direct and coordinate construction, installation, maintenance, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements. Integrate new technologies into equipment and processes. Perform continuous improvement activities for quality and throughput. Analyze product flow and perform continuous improvement activities for quality and throughput. Troubleshoot mechanical systems and basic electrical troubleshooting. Work with electrical and software teams to integrate with the mechanical systems. Develop, document, and follow production processes. Support maintenance and operations with repairs and redesigns to meet production goals. Create and adhere to project plans and budgets. Prepare specifications for the purchase of materials and equipment and the solicitations of contractors. Qualifications & Skills: Degree in mechanical engineering technology or equivalent. Proficient with SolidWorks CAD software. Fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes and machining / fabrication. Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools such as wrenches, drills, saws, etc. Ability to communicate effectively with operators and vendors. Work around loud machinery requiring hearing protection, hard hat, safety glasses, steel toed shoes, and occasional dust mask. Must be willing to work any shift.
