Description
Description Objective/Summary: Provide the technical and production support necessary to ensure the effective transition of products from Product Development to Manufacturing. Initiate and drive the completion of efficient work cells, documentation and training materials, process improvement initiatives, manufacturing systems and equipment, quality improvement projects, and CNC programs. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Provide Engineering and Project Management support for assigned projects. Ensure all deadlines, action items, and expectations are met in an appropriate and timely fashion Regularly communicate and document project status with consistent and accurate information to all appropriate manufacturing and support functions Identify and initiate proven manufacturing improvement projects that lead to more robust and capable processes, equipment, and/or standards and procedures Support the corporate Lean Manufacturing initiatives by assisting in the implementation, training, and maintenance of successful 5s program Support production and quality functions with systematic and detailed problem solving skills leading to properly identified root causes and then the implementation of irreversible corrective actions Participate in new product design reviews to ensure all products and components are designed for efficient manufacturability (DFM) Initiate and coordinate efficient and effective work cells for new products that warrant dedicated and specialized manufacturing methods Analyze appropriate data and product specifications to properly define standards and quality outputs expected of products Support production by helping to track and maintain the conformance to these expectations Initiate and assist in the implementation of Chang Requests by thoroughly investigating and recommending changes in designs, tolerances, processing methods, and/or components Develop process documentation to facilitate consistent manufacturing practices Develop facility layouts including workcells and plant-wide Secondary Responsibilities and Duties: Thoroughly and accurately complete any required departmental, corporate, and/or ISO documentation. Help ensure that any quality gauges used are maintained in the calibration system Setup and facilitate team review meetings, when facility teamwork and cross function ownership is critical to the success of a project or assignment Be a training resource for production personnel on new or revised manufacturing techniques, methods, or equipment Provide technical design input leading to improved testing processes, jigs and fixtures, inspection gauges, assembling techniques and methods Support all departmental and corporate goals and objectives, as required and needed, to help grow business and ensure our customers always receive superior service and product quality Assist in other qualified areas when needed and assigned by supervisor, manager or management entity Represent and preserve the best interest and integrity of the company whenever and wherever possible Other duties as assigned Requirements Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.)in Engineering/Manufacturing Process or equivalent related field from a four-year college; AND three to five years work-related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience Experience in Statistical Process Control (SPC); Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); ISO 9001 processes; Autocad; Solid Modeling; Mastercam; ERP Systems; and Microsoft Applications Lean manufacturing Benefits PTO: 3 weeks per year 72 hours of paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Wellness program Short-term disability (employer paid) $30,000 of life insurance (employer paid) 401(k) with company match Employee Assistance Program Equal Opportunity Statement Spectrum Industries, Inc. is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
