KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing detailed work instructions for production employees.
• Maintaining the Material Take-Off (MTO).
• Preparing production drawings.
• Providing an engineering information package and instructions for tool use.
• Drawing up specifications for outsourcing.
• Managing raw material orders.
• Specifying quality controls according to the test and inspection plan.
• Controlling the workflow of the structural production process.
• Working within established limits for time, budget, and quality.
• Clear communication within the organization.
• Identifying shortcomings and proposing improvements to management.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• A vocational degree (Berufsausbildung) in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
• A full understanding of all production phases.
• Experience with production, engineering, and/or design software such as SAP, 3DX, Teamcenter, and Cadmatic / Inventor.
• Good command of both German and English (written and spoken).
• Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.

THE ROLE

As a Manufacturing Engineer Structures at Damen Naval, you are responsible for optimizing efficiency and effectiveness in the production of structural components at the yard in Kiel. You analyze equipment layout, workflow, and assembly methods, determine necessary parts and tools, and plan, design, set up, adjust, optimize, and monitor production processes.
