Description
Provide support to the floor issues with respect to assembly, warehouse, fabrication, and testing areas. Lead and Support Kaizen events and functions including production floor follow-up, set-up reduction, and new product introduction. Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, including tooling, fixtures and processes. You will assist in the determination of manufacturing methods, machinery, or capacity to produce parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies for new products or customer orders consistent with overall plant objectives. You will confer with engineering and production personnel on design changes and new product development programs. You will evaluate and implement the operation of new and existing machinery, tooling and other equipment. You will support plant process changes via the Change Management Process. You will generate, investigate, evaluate, and implement cost improvement ideas and opportunities. Contributes and leads as appropriate in the procurement and start-up of new capital equipment (including ROI) for acquisition of equipment to support developing and existing projects as required. Support projects to deploy Industry 4.0 tools & technologies into manufacturing operations. Collaborate with cross-functional resources to execute projects - Digital Factory Engineer/Specialist, Information Technology, Operational Excellence, Production, Quality, and Facilities. Guide & support plant teams on machine connectivity & data acquisition activities. Associate degree in Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution. At least 1 year working in a manufacturing environment (internships, graduate projects, etc.) No relocation is provided for this position, only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the El Paso, TX facility will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. 1-2 years of engineering technician experience in an electrical manufacturing environment. Able to speak both English and Spanish. Ability to read engineering drawings, understanding of basic CAD and drafting principles. Understanding of engineering and productivity tools (CAD software, Office suite and AS400). Experience with metal fabrication equipment (operating, troubleshooting, and maintenance) and manufacturing execution systems. Ability to develop and implement equipment TPM's. Experience working with electrical switchboards. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality tools (e.g. Kaizen, time study, VSM, PFMEA, problem solving tools) and safety management tools. Knowledge and experience in implementing I4.0 solutions in the manufacturing industry (ie. Additive Mfg., real time OEE, Digital Work Instructions, Predictive Maintenance, Digital Traceability, Machine Learning AI, Simulation, Collaborative Robots, Autonomous Mobile Robots, Augmented Reality) Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as Power BI and Power apps. Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills. Ability to work in a highly unstructured and ambiguous environment. Extensive knowledge and technical expertise in ETO processes and engineering methods.
