Ransomes Jacobsen is one of world’s leading manufacturers of commercial mowers and turf maintenance equipment.We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team here in Ipswich, whowill lead step change improvements within primary areas of Operations, as well as driving incremental improvements using lean methodology to improve our product quality and boost manufacturing efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with the current engineering and production teams to ensure seamless roll out of parts and products into production;
  • Ensuring that safety, quality, production and cost standards are met;
  • Weld support; process, tooling, documentation, tool design and implementation;
  • Laser & Press support; process development, tooling support;
  • Support to other primary areas; e.g. form tooling, tube bending, machining fixtures;
  • New machinery to support long range growth plans; specification, CAPEX application, implementation;
  • Management and implementation of primary area change notes, including setting of standard times & routings. Review for DFM;
  • Implementing Standard Operating Procedures where required;
  • Managing and identifying opportunities to reduce waste within processes and continuous Improvement;
  • Working closely with the primary team to sustain, improve processes and controls in existing production lines.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent required; Mechanical Engineering preferred;
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of PFMEA, SPC and Quality Control Techniques;
  • Knowledge of CAD systems (Siemens NX preferred);
  • Ability to work with staff at differing levels;
  • Good understanding of ISO & OHSAS requirements;
  • Strong communication skills, very customer focused;
  • Ability to assess and upgrade procedures and systems;
  • Versatile and a self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
