Description

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Quality / Manufacturing or related field desired
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a fabrication environment, Engineering roll and/or programming role or Minimum 7 yrs experience in a manufacturing environment.
    · AutoCAD, CAM related, Solidworks viewer, Ncell/DimondNest programming software’s a plus
    · CWI certification is a plus

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

· Metal Fabrication Experience required.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and train others on technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications including ERP systems (Epicor), Microsoft Office 365, and time/attendance systems (Paylocity).
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Ability to shift between tasks and priorities quickly in a dynamic production environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve issues involving multiple variables in standardized settings.
  • Embraces a cross-functional mindset when approaching challenges.
  • Committed to employee involvement and fostering positive team participation.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to lead and participate in team meetings, as well as deliver weekly updates effectively.

Responsibilities

· Demonstrate a strong passion for educating and guiding team members on best practices in production and quality.
· Create and maintain comprehensive work instructions throughout the product lifecycle.
· Collaborate with the Quality team to develop and implement in-line QA processes that ensure quality at the source.
· Improve product quality and operational efficiency through Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and optimized setups for high-running part numbers.
· Identify and implement strategies to reduce setup times for frequently produced parts.
· Drive innovation in fixture and work setup design to support reliable, repeatable, and high-quality production processes.
· Partner with Operations to understand business needs and recommend tools, equipment, and solutions that support growth and customer satisfaction.
· Play a key role in the Pre-Production and New Product Introduction (NPI) process by developing safe, efficient, and effective production workflows and supporting documentation.
· Troubleshoot production issues in collaboration with the Quality and Production teams.
· Investigate and resolve operational challenges as they arise.
· Create and modify brake press programs to support efficient and accurate forming operations.
· Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create solutions for custom or complex production needs.
· Program and navigate SolidWorks, NCell/DiamondNest, and AutoCAD to design and develop fixtures, jigs, and other quality support tools.
· Fabricate the fixtures and jigs you design, ensuring alignment with production needs and quality standards.
· Train new hires and current employees on production processes, blueprint reading, equipment use, and company best practices to ensure consistency and capability across teams.
