Description Using knowledge of and experience with design software including 3D CAD software (Creo) and AutoCAD for casting and forging processes, applying automotive engineering standards, including IATF 16949, or VDA 6.3 or a combination thereof, developing manufacturing processes for continuous casting and forging, applying Lean and Six Sigma Methodologies to improve continuous casting and forging processes, and managing CAPEX projects with structured Project Management Methods to design manufacturing processes for continuous casting and forging of automotive components. Design robust solutions to remedy quality issues. Analyze production data to provide solutions to optimize processes and ensure production targets are met. Select, design, and implement appropriate tools, equipment, and fixtures. Create and maintain detailed process documentation (PFMEA, Setup Sheets, Check Sheets). Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Train team members in operation, adjustment, changeover and troubleshooting equipment. Manage CAPEX projects for new equipment, equipment upgrades, automation projects, and similar, from developing and submittal of CAPEX requests, through all phases of project management, including timely closure of projects. Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects, using Lean and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and enhance productivity. Track projects to completion, including costs savings. Requirements Requires a Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (U.S. equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience evidencing demonstrable ability to perform the stated job duties.
