PERSON SPECIFICATION
· Experience within a similar role ideally within a manufacturing environment.
· Experience of working within the aerospace industry with knowledge of PPAP, 8D and FMEA processes would be advantageous but not essential.
· We are seeking a highly motivated person with excellent communication skills and a good team player, with a high level of concentration and commitment to work.
· You must be able to work on your own initiative, work well under pressure and enjoy a challenging environment.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
· Ideally you will be educated to high graded GCSE/A Level, a Degree in Engineering or completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
· Excellent IT skills in particular Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project and Windows Applications.
You must have excellent Time Management, Administrative skills, Attention to detail and be able to work on own initiative to tight timescales
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
· Experience of using Solidworks and Camworks packages would be desirable.
· Shop floor experience in a Mill / Turn environment.
ROLE SUMMARY:
To facilitate the organisation in attaining its mandated objectives by achieving our SQCDP & KRA metrics.
Responsible for NPI, cost saving, process improvement and scrap reduction activity, in addition to providing technical support within the designated key area. When capacity dictates, may also be required to assist other Applications Engineer’s in their sections.
The employee will willingly undertake, upon request, any other task they are able to perform. Elements of the role may vary as new technology, procedures and equipment are introduced.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· To provide technical support to the shop floor for process issues.
· Creating stage drawings for all internal manufacturing operations.
· Design work holding requirements and create technical drawings.
· Liaise with supply chain, procure quotation(s) for external requirements.
· Identifying required measuring equipment and cutting tools for manufacturing processes.
· Create check sheets, setting sheets and work instructions for manufacturing applications.
· Generate CNC programs for mill / turn operations utilising the designated software provided.
· Responsible for the software control and issue status of CNC programs.
· Progressing and documenting process change activity and ensuring quality metrics and performance metrics are achieved.
· Attending the Improvement Clinic as part of a cross-functional team to disposition product, ascertain corrective action required and prevent repeat occurrences of non-conformities.
· Identifying and progressing process improvement & cost-saving initiatives.
· Responsible for assigned actions within the New Part Introduction process.
