QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Engineering Degree from an accredited university of good standing or equivalent.
  • Registered with EGBC as a P. Eng or EIT or ASTTBC.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant industry work experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing training or experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5-2018 GD&T is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Reporting to Manufacturing Engineering Lead, responsibilities include:

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Implements engineering changes; manage change control for new and existing product implementations/ revisions.
  • Initiates and evaluates cost studies, product suggestions and value analyses.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities and establishing.
  • Plans for and monitors project budgets.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Collaborate on the design and analysis of mechanical components and systems, supporting the implementation into production.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures.
  • Work with Supply Chain team on sourcing of components and materials for new product implementation.
  • Verify conformity of outsourced components and parts against specifications and drawings as required.
  • Test prototypes of new products to an extent sufficient to verify conformity with the development specification.
  • Create technical documentation using, SolidWorks, & M2M.
  • Create VTR’s, standards, procedures and keep accurate records on all projects.
  • Define, document, and build equipment for product and component testing.
  • Other duties as required.
