Description

SUMMARY:

Wanco Inc. is an industrial manufacturer seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support all aspects of DFMA including product design from the manufacturing perspective. This role will develop and improve manufacturing and assembly process to reduce cycle time and enhance quality.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
· Industrial manufacturing experience including electro mechanical components and assemblies.
· Modular and subassembly design experience.
· Assembly process experience including an emphasis on electrical wiring.
· Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
· Effective relationship building skills.
· Designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes and systems experience.
· Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting production equipment experience.
· Calculating production costs, analyzing efficiency, and identifying areas for improvement experience.
· Cause and Effect experience.
· Project management experience.
· Experience researching and implementing new manufacturing technologies.
· Understanding of various assembly and manufacturing techniques and processes experience.
· Proficiency in software like CAD and other manufacturing tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· ISO 9001:2015 experience.
· Lean Manufacturing experience including one-piece-flow.
· Line balance experience.
· Process mapping experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Mobility to work in office and factory setting including use of standard office equipment, including a computer.
Comfortable working directly in a manufacturing facility and adhering to PPE requirements.
Some travel may be required.
Reporting: This position reports to the Operations Director
Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

This includes but is not limited to:
· Assessing current production and target most impactful cycle time constraints, identifying and organize solutions.
· Organizing modular, and or subassembly solutions through internal and external supply chains.
· Attending current design project meetings and taking lessons learned from shop floor DFMA and introducing into design engineering.
· Organize product cost down exercises.
· Coordinate project tasks with applicable process owners.
· Ensure project deliverables are correctly defined, assigned and produced on time.
· Ensure all project documentation is available, approved and filed for each project milestone.
· Follow administrative processes per department procedures and practices.
· Capture, communicate and track the status/impact of project to project teams and stakeholders.
· Ensure project activities comply with defined requirements.
