SUMMARY

YASA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to be responsible for designing, optimising, and supporting manufacturing processes to ensure safety, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness through our manufacturing processes.
This role supports cross-functional teams to enhance production process capabilities, maintain equipment, and drive continuous improvement across all SQDCPE (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Environment) key performance indicators.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations and standards, including the creation of risk assessments.
  • Create and maintain process documentation including Process Flows, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and Standard Work Instructions.
  • Design, develop, and optimise manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems.
  • Select, procure, install, and maintain production equipment and tooling.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures across manufacturing processes.
  • Act as an escalation point for production staff on process or equipment concerns.
  • Analyse production data to sustain and improve SQDCPE performance.
  • Utilise root cause analysis and other problem-solving tools to resolve production issues.
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation within manufacturing engineering control systems.
  • Provide training and support to production staff on new or revised processes and equipment.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to evaluate and enhance product manufacturability.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, WE BELIEVE YOU’LL NEED:

  • A qualification in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • A strong understanding of manufacturing principles, quality systems, Lean methodologies.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, control plans, and process documentation standards.
  • Proficient in data analysis techniques and continuous improvement tools (e.g. 8D, PPS, RPS)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A flexible approach to work with the desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
