                                            At-Will Job Description Job Title:  Manufacturing Engineer FLSA Status:  Exempt Department:  Engineering Type of Position:  Full-Time Reports To:  Engineering Manager                                                  Reporting to This Position: None JOB SUMMARY Responsible for review, design, development and application of manufacturing processes, gages - equipment and tooling to meet customer, supplier and internal customer requirements, and expectations.     Interact accordingly with all parties involved to assure that quality requirements and process cost and delivery performance objectives are met.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage Project and departmental timing plans (timelines)  * Develop and Maintain the following: * Equipment capacity plan (including direct labor forecast), Labor Quotations, Project Appropriation Request (PAR’s), Tooling Appropriation Request (TAR’s), Capital Expenditure Plans for applicable departments, Production Routing (router, mfg specs), Operator Instruction Sheets (OIS), Daily PM sheets, Equipment manuals –to standard, Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s), Process FMEA’s, Internal Change Requests (ICR’s), Plant layout for applicable departments, Purchase requisitions, YA Machine spec design, P-Flows, Mfg specifications (time studies), Mfg capacity plans, Capital plans, ABC forms, Packaging standards. OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Tooling, gages and equipment drawings/designs  * Ability to design small tooling & fixture in Pro-E * Conduct Tooling Trials (machine plugged in, ready to go) * Train the trainer (cross functional team) * Responsible for training production foreman on new process. * Responses to internal issues/ability to lead problem-solving * Line trials, PPAP’s (active participation)Lead doc review/process audit, PFMEA, CP, Etc * Performs other duties as assigned SKILLS & ABILITIES * The ability to follow complex directions, meet timelines and create a plan to meet assigned goals.  * The ability to determine equipment needs and readiness. * The ability to identify and resolve problems at a professional level. * The ability to operate a computer and basic tools.  The ability to travel as needed. * Demonstrate the ability to understand technical problems of a complex nature EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * A Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred and/or equivalent experience working as a technician or engineer in automotive manufacturing 5+ years and obtain acceptable results on the standard YIA employment selection test * A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ESSNTIAL TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE JOB * Occasionally in sitting position to perform duties at desk and on computer * Frequently communicates with employees, customers and suppliers * Frequently communicates to external and internal customers to understand their requests *  Frequently walks, kneels and stands
