Summary Objective The Manufacturing Engineering Director is responsible for leading and advancing manufacturing engineering strategies, processes, and technologies to support operational excellence across the organization. This role directs a team of manufacturing engineers, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and establishes best practices that enhance productivity, quality, and safety.This position plays a critical leadership role in developing process standards, evaluating and implementing new technologies, and aligning manufacturing engineering capabilities with business objectives. Essential Functions * Lead and develop a team of manufacturing engineers responsible for process design, improvement, and standardization * Establish and implement manufacturing engineering strategies aligned with business and production goals * Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction * Develop and maintain best practices, standards, and workflows for core manufacturing processes * Evaluate, test, and implement new manufacturing technologies and equipment * Serve as a subject matter expert for complex manufacturing processes and problem-solving * Partner cross-functionally with operations, quality, supply chain, and leadership teams to drive performance improvements * Lead process optimization efforts to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product quality * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members * Support capital projects, production scaling, and new product introductions * Analyze production data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement Competencies * Strong leadership and team development skills * Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering principles * Strategic thinking with the ability to execute at an operational level * Continuous improvement mindset (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) * Problem-solving and analytical capabilities for complex challenges * Effective cross-functional collaboration and influence * Project management and organizational skills * Strong communication and presentation skills Supervisory Responsibility This position has direct supervisory responsibility for the Manufacturing Engineering team and is responsible for coaching, development, and performance management. Work Location This position will work out of our fabrication facility in Jacksonville, FL. This position is not approved for remote work. Work Environment This role operates in both an office and manufacturing environment. Regular time on the production floor is required to support engineering initiatives, process improvements, and operational alignment. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. The employee may frequently use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Travel Up to 15% travel may be required. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, including 3+ years in leadership. Preferred Education and Experience Master’s degree, Lean/Six Sigma certification, and experience in heavy manufacturing.
