JOB SUMMARY:

SLPT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineering & Industrial Facilities Manager to establish and lead a team at the new Warren, MI facility. In this dual-capacity role, you will be responsible for overseeing all manufacturing engineering and maintenance/facilities management activities for the facility. Heavy emphasis on maintenance and facilities management. This includes managing a team of manufacturing engineers, controls engineers/technicians, and facilities/maintenance personnel. The primary function is to optimize manufacturing processes, maximize equipment availability, ensuring facility readiness and compliance, and driving operational excellence. Your leadership will be critical in shaping both the production capabilities and the physical infrastructure of our new technical center.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in leading manufacturing engineering and/or maintenance/facilities teams within the automotive industry. Experience in powertrain and electric vehicle products is preferred.
  • Proven experience in industrial facilities management, including oversight of building systems, maintenance programs, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies related to automotive powertrain and electric vehicle part manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process optimization techniques.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and leading complex projects in a manufacturing and facilities environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols in both manufacturing and facilities operations.
  • Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD), manufacturing software, and facilities management systems.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with changing priorities and requirements.
