Description
Manage manufacturing engineers and engineering technicians. Manage Tool Room Technicians (4 employees) and Center of Excellence activities. Manages Facilities Maintenance Technicians (2 employees) responsible for Facilities Maintenance activities for the plant. These activities include maintenance for HVAC, Central Systems, Power and Air Drops, Air Compressors, Equipment Moves, Bathrooms (including minor plumbing), Wall and Ceiling Repair, etc. Develop contractual agreements and manage contractors for advanced support of plant HVAC, Air Compressors, Large Equipment Moves, Roofing, and Major Construction or Environmental Projects. Analyze and review technical drawings and product specifications to develop and improve manufacturing strategy for new and existing products. Analyze and track job requirements including estimating the cost, labor, materials, equipment, and special tools required to complete the job in a safe and cost-effective manner. Drive cost out, scrap reduction, and OEE improvements throughout the facility. Mentor, coach, and challenge site team members to develop skills in use of ELSS methodology. Provide effective & timely communication between management and technical personnel. Maintain all departmental, work, vacation, overtime and related schedules. Manage department operations budget and assist with management of plant capital budget. Lead and participate in Cross Functional Teams (CFT) and develop team members to lead and participate in CFT's. Fully engage team and promote personal accountability by identifying goals and regularly working with team members to ensure goals can be achieved. This should use both informal conversations and formal performance reviews. Develop team goals and work with individual team members to ensure goals are achieved. Proactively implement, promote and maintain a Zero Incident Safety Culture, through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and rule enforcement. Follow all environmental health and safety procedures and practices to assure a safe work environment. Perform all other duties as required Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and/or Engineering Technology or related field from an accredited institution Minimum (3) years experience in a leadership position Minimum (3) years experience in engineering in a manufacturing environment Experience with machining (ie: grinding or CNC metal cutting) Project management experience Experience with leading cross functional teams Experience with leading problem solving groups Ability to speak within all levels of the organization
