JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a related Engineering discipline
· Minimum of 5 years experience of engineering leadership or management role within a manufacturing environment
· Demonstrated work history in management of electronics manufacturing operations is highly desirable.
· Lean Six Sigma certification and/or training desired. Six Sigma black belt is preferred. Experience in LEAN manufacturing principles is preferred

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

Provide technical leadership to Manufacturing & Maintenance personal to research, implement, and troubleshoot new processes to expand capabilities. Work with customers on new designs and technical problem resolution. Managing Project life cycles. Develop processes, recommend new equipment, formulate and implement technical strategy for the business. Oversea equipment installations, product development, improved efficiency, scrap reduction, and cost reduction. Identify and justify capital equipment necessary to meet volume ramps, correct quality deficiencies, achieve productivity improvements, or to satisfy new technology initiatives.
Provide technical leadership across the business from the initial sales quoting through final assembly and test processes.
Position requires high involvement with sales and customers.

NATURE OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

· Plans and leads the plant technical capabilities including: establishment of plant equipment specifications, manufacturing techniques, and process controls/tools e.g (FMEA, Process Flow).
· Oversee function which reviews customer documentation to determine if customer specifications are within facility’s manufacturing capabilities, creates BOM’s from customer specifications, denotes specific equipment and tools needed and generates assembly and test estimates for quote purposes.
· Develop close relationships with customers technical teams and drive total product integration ownership and alignment with customers technology Roadmap and company goals.
· Directs plant continuous improvement efforts through Lean Six Sigma principles.
· Oversee resources which provide hands-on technical support, analyze equipment operations and operator procedures to determine solutions, modify equipment operations and identify new materials or methods
· Work closely with Manufacturing and materials Management in capacity planning.
