Description
We are seeking a hands-on detailed oriented Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support the fabrication of electronic enclosures. This role will focus on sustaining engineering activities, driving product and process improvements, resolving quality issues, improving weld jigs/tooling, and production efficiency. Create, edit, and train operators on standard work documentation and standard work practices throughout the facility. Perform time studies, record data in stand and creating/maintaining process documentation. Use structured problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, A3, and 8D to address daily defect reduction. Collaborate with engineers to optimize weld and metal fabrication tooling. Support the continuous improvement ideas program by providing feedback and assisting with implementation. Participate in rapid improvement events to improve standard work, productivity, material flow, and equipment availability. Support the Continuous Improvement department activities that include Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, and Standard Work implementation and improvements. Collaborate with operations to resolve daily production issues and support long-term improvements; attend daily Tier 2 meetings and escalate issues as needed. Issue purchase requests for equipment, supplies, and tools for production and projects. Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) action items related to management of change (MOC), gemba walks, and safety observations. Support New Product Introductions(NPI) PPAP builds. Analyze the pilot build data and provide engineering input for product improvements. Interface cross-functionally with all departments to achieve operational goals. High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution. A minimum of 4 years experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. No relocation benefit is offered. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service members are exempt from the geographical limitation. Associate degree in engineering or a related technical program from an accredited institution. Technical Certificate or Associates Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology, Electromechanical Technology, Instrumentation Technology, Automated Industrial Technology, Robotics and Controls Technology, Nanoengineering and Nanotechnology, Electron Microscopy or related electronics field Experience participating in Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), Kaizen, Manufacturing Engineering Capital Projects, and other Continuous Improvement (CI) activities. Demonstrated engagement in continuous improvement programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for training and cross-functional collaboration. Willingness to drive change and challenge the status quo. Ability to influence operations and gain buy-in for change management. Basic computer proficiency. Willingness to work overtime when required.
