JOB SUMMARY:

Envision Technology, an innovative small business providing advanced electro-optical solutions for defense applications, seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Technician, 2nd Shift. In this role, you are responsible for providing engineers with support, diagnostics, repair, maintenance and assembly of products. Individuals applying for this position should have the aptitude and motivation to proactively contribute to a small business culture from day one and grow with the company.
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 3:30 pm – 1:00 am, and every other Friday, 3:30 pm – 12:00 pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years work experience in a similar role OR an Associates degree or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering with minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient at independently troubleshooting systems and determining root cause and proper corrective action.
  • Assembly experience in electronics rework, mechanical assembly, optical assembly.
  • Solid understanding of electric circuits, multimeters, oscilloscopes, amp meters, and hand tools.
  • Able to work under a microscope on small components including printed circuit boards and optics.
  • Ability to work alone and with others, with self-motivation and a can-do attitude
  • Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and managing time efficiently while working independently with light supervision.
  • Willingness and ability to be solder certified in accordance with J-STD-001. Existing certification is a plus.
  • Ability to move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities
  • Primarily responsible for troubleshooting and dispositioning of non-conforming electronic and opto-mechanical assemblies.
  • Monitor the outputs of production processes and provide feedback to assemblers on failure modes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Keep engineering, quality and operations management informed of recurring or new trends in process yield and participate actively in resolution.
  • Make recommendations for improvements in products, processes, work instructions, parts or test plans improvements as applicable.
  • Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, engineering sketches, plans, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Inspect assembled units and evaluate test results.
  • Interpret and follow documents such as SOPs and safety rules.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers in all aspects of process development, including work instructions, fixturing, floor layout, line setup and time studies.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, operations, quality and program management to meet program goals.
  • Opportunities for mechanical design and software generation.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
