Role Overview Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the Engineering Technician will provide technical support to equipment engineers in the development, installation, validation, and transfer of custom automated equipment. This role is critical in supporting the scale-up of manufacturing operations for both existing and new products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to ensure equipment meets required specifications, timelines, and performance standards. Key Responsibilities · Work from schematics, diagrams, layouts, and technical descriptions to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting. · Test the performance of electro-mechanical assemblies using appropriate test equipment. · Operate, test, and maintain robotic systems and vision inspection equipment. · Analyse and document test results, producing clear and accurate reports. · Perform operational testing and fault isolation on automated systems. · Support equipment development activities including assembly, testing, and validation of equipment, fixtures, and processes. · Assist in engineering studies and validation activities under the supervision of project engineers. · Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures. · Maintain and update technical documentation including manuals, drawings, and specifications. · Collaborate effectively across teams and support additional duties as required. Experience & Requirements · 8–10 years’ experience in a related engineering or manufacturing environment. · Strong ability to read, analyse, and interpret technical and scientific documentation. · Experience writing reports, handovers, and technical documentation. · Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, supervisors, and management. · Proven hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. · Strong interpersonal and communication skills. · Knowledge of high-volume, high-reliability manufacturing equipment and processes. · Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation and process records.
