The Role


Our Lenah Valley site in Hobart manufactures a range of more than 50 milk, milk-based and cream products, with all products made from fresh milk sourced directly from Tasmanian dairy farms. The site currently produces around 33 million litres of product every year, operating 6 days a week and employing around 50 people.


We have a great opportunity for a new Manufacturing Manager to join us in Lenah Valley for a 12 to 18 month period to backfill parental leave. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is eager to be a future leader within our business.


The Manufacturing Manager leads our site's dairy manufacturing operations, ensuring milk products are processed and packed safely, efficiently and cost-effectively while delivering safety, quality, service and financial targets.


As a member of the Site Steering Group, you contribute to site performance, strategic priorities, culture and continuous improvement. The Manufacturing Manager also builds team capability and drives operational excellence through strong leadership, effective processes and a focus on continuous improvement.


This role is fixed time, full time for a 12 to 18 month period.



Responsibilities

  • Lead safe, efficient and cost-effective manufacturing operations to meet production targets.
  • Drive performance across safety, quality, service, cost and people outcomes.
  • Plan and allocate resources to meet production and workforce requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, food safety and quality standards.
  • Lead problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste and optimise processes.


About you

  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Proven capability to lead change and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to analyse operational data and translate insights into actions
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
