Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Manager (K) to support the Satellite Unit Production team in El Segundo, CA
The Boeing El Segundo satellite factory manufactures thermal vac testing, vibration testing, and delivers component level and integrated satellite systems for both commercial and government customers. Increasing levels of business require additional management to oversee all aspects of manufacturing and operations in the unit and subassembly areas of the factory.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 1+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal leadership role
  • 1+ years of experience supporting Operations, Materials Management and/or Supply Chain functions in a production environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 1+ year of experience working in a cross-functional environment and/or business unit team
  • 1+ year of experience in an aerospace, fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • 1+ year of experience with continuous process improvement initiatives
  • 1+ year of experience with Quality Management Systems and/or OneBoeing Production System (OneBPS)
Responsibilities
  • Plans and supervises the day-to-day activity of up to 20 technicians involved with the production of satellite hardware, and deliver subassemblies and units according to schedule commitments
  • Acts as primary interface and coordinates support across several adjacent organizations, including but not limited to production integration, engineering, program management, finance, and quality assurance
  • Strives to improve efficiency in the production and delivery of material to customers, both internal and external
  • Recommends and implements cost and schedule saving initiatives
  • Identifies and resolves conflicts which may impede the efficient operation of the factory
