Description MANUFACTURING MANAGER The Manufacturing Manager oversees the daily operations of Orbion’s manufacturing and test facilities. This includes coordinating, planning, and directing all activities in the production and test processes. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and driven by a fast-paced, exciting, and collaborative work environment. This position will work independently, lead teams, interface with the Engineering, Quality and Purchasing teams, analyze data, lead risk and opportunity management, and maintain production progress reports. Responsibilities: Management and development of manufacturing engineers and manufacturing/testing technicians Manage the overall production plan using both MRP and ERP methodologies Coordinate with other departments and groups to achieve schedule Ensure production stays on schedule and build targets are achieved Assure all quality standards are met Analysis of production data for process improvement Ensure facilities and equipment meet all applicable safety and performance requirements. Communicate with other departments to ensure delivery of conforming product on schedule Develop, maintain, and present plans and progress reports relating to production to internal executive leadership and customers Proactively identify and address risks and develop solutions to problems which require critical thinking, creativity, and innovation to ensure on-time production Able to be decisive in scenarios of ambiguity and without having all the necessary info Present manufacturing status and updates as assigned Represent Manufacturing with facility tours as assigned Other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements: Must meet the definition of a US Person Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Physics, Business, or directly related degree or experience 5 years of experience managing personnel and processes in a production environment A solid understanding of applicable engineering principles, business practices, and experience working in production facilities Experience using and maintaining Material Resource Planning (MRP) tools Willingness to travel on occasion (10-15%) Ability to collaborate in a team setting and be an active individual contributor Great communication skills, technical depth, breadth, and passion will enable you to work effectively with cross functional (electrical, mechanical, software, system, test) product development teams Preferred Qualifications: 5-10 years’ experience in precision manufacturing industry such as aerospace or medical technology Experience with production in clean room environments Master’s Degree in Manufacturing, Program Management, or Business Administration PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Prolonged periods of standing on concrete surfaces and at times, sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up/carry to 40 pounds loads from floor level to chest level Ability to move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Manual dexterity to evaluate, install, and modify equipment COMPENSATION/BENEFITS: Enjoy a very competitive starting salary based on your knowledge and experience.
