Description Job Summary As the Operations Manager, you will guide Tufco’s manufacturing processes with a relentless focus on Six Sigma quality, safety, and lean efficiency. You are responsible for establishing industry-benchmark standards in cost, quality, and supply chain reliability. By leveraging your operating expertise, you will ensure Tufco remains a premier destination for contract manufacturing through predictable, high-performance production cycles. Essential Functions: Strategic Leadership & People Management Direct Operations: Oversee all contract manufacturing departments, ensuring cell systems operate at peak efficiency and standard. Team Development: Lead, mentor, and manage the supervisory team, fostering a culture of professional growth for engineers and floor associates. Culture Champion: Evangelize the concepts of continuous improvement, instilling a "safety and quality first" mindset across the entire workforce. Communication: Establish and maintain an effective, multi-directional communication system between Operations and supporting departments. Production & Operational Excellence Execution: Ensure all customer production schedules are met on time, within budget, and to specification. Planning: Actively participate in site-level and customer-facing production planning meetings to align capabilities with demand. Standardization: Establish best practices and rigorous process control through SOP development, comprehensive training, and centerline oversight. Proactive Management: Orchestrate daily operations with a forward-looking approach to mitigate bottlenecks before they impact delivery. Continuous Improvement & Quality Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with continuous improvement teams and operational support to identify and implement "Best Practice" frameworks. Quality Assurance: Utilize Six Sigma methodologies to minimize variance and maintain high-visibility leadership on the production floor. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: 7+ years of broad-based manufacturing and leadership experience. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to act as a visible role model. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and integrated manufacturing software. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related technical discipline. Formal Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification a plus. Experience with ISO certification processes and audits. Work Requirements: High level of visibility and physical presence on the manufacturing floor. Ability to manage complex, multi-shift production environments.
